Iran able to turn into major supplier of oil and gas in Asia
Iran, a country possessing huge oil and gas reserves, is able and enjoys necessary potential to turn into a major
supplier of oil and gas in Asia.
Chairman of Asia-Europe forum and member of Boao forum for Asia (Hainan-China) Serge Berthier said on sidelines of
Boao energy forum for Asia that Iran is the main supplier of oil and gas in Asia, meeting 6.60 % of Asian market
needs.
Berthier said Iran is also able and has the potential to offer oil and gas to overseas markets. The expert hailed the
ongoing forum for the high-level technical discussions underway among the participants, mostly including those from
Iran and China.
He said Iran and China can become major oil and gas partners in Asia.
Iran is now a major and the largest supplier of crude oil to China with an annual export of 10-12 mm tons.
Export of LNG to China in a period of 25 to 30 years will turn the country into one of the major importers of Iranian
energy.
