Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) sold its first non-oxygenated gasoline cargo, a grade acceptable to countries such as Australia and the United States, from its new refinery for end-March loading, sources said.
The 95-octane parcel was sold to an undisclosed oil major at parity to a $ 1.00 a barrel discount to Singapore spot quotes, on a free-on-board (FOB) basis, one source said.

"Reliance's Crude Distillation Unit (CDU) was up since end-December, and they have been combining the auto fuel coming out of its new and older refinery in their exports for a while," said another source.
"But it is correct to say that this is the first non-oxygenated gasoline cargo it is exporting from the new plant."

Many were expecting Reliance to start its oil products exports from its new 580,000 bpd refinery from April, but it went against expectations and started exporting naphtha for January lifting from the plant.
Reliance also operates an older 660,000-bpd refinery at the Jamnagar site in westernGujarat state.
