Pertamina to build two LNG receiving terminals
Indonesia's state oil and gas company Pertamina said it has set aside $ 400 mm to build two liquefied natural gas
(LNG) receiving terminals in West Java and East Java.
The two terminals, each with a capacity of 500 mm cfpd, are to be operational in September 2011, Pertamina President
Karen Agustiawan said.
Construction of the one in West Java will be handled by Pertamina alone but the one in East Java will be built in
cooperation with state-owned gas distributor Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) with a share split of 60 % and 40 %.
Construction of the floating terminals will cost around $ 200 mm each.
Meanwhile, Chief Economics Minister Hatta Rajasa said the government has decided to build three LNG receiving terminals or floating storage and regasification unit (FSRU) including one in North Sumatra.
