The number of vehicles powered by diesel oil and LPG rose by 7.6 % and 4.3 %, respectively, to 5.17 mm and 1.75 mm at the end of April, officials of the Ministry of Construction and Transportation in South Korea said.
They said diesel-oil and LPG vehicles made slight increases despite the protracted slump in consumption.

However, the number of gasoline-powered vehicles declined by 11,000 at end April 2004 when compared with the year-earlier figure.
There were 7.75 mm gasoline-engine vehicles at the end of April, representing 52.6 % of the 14.72 mm vehicles registered with the government.
