CNPC wants to invest in China's Western region
China National Petroleum Corp plans to invest more than 70 bn yuan in energy projects in China's less developed
Western region over the next five years.
Quoting the company's president, Ma Fucai, who also serves as chairman of its Hong Kong-listed unit, PetroChina said
the investment could range from natural gas to other oil and petrochemical projects. The investment target comes on
top of plans to invest 120 bn yuan in a west-to-east gas supply project bringing natural gas from Xinjiang to
Shanghai.
