China to localize pipeline steel production soon

China will soon be able to localize corrosion- and deformation-proof pipeline steel production, the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country's top economic planner, said.
Steel rails for high-speed railways and steel wheels for Electri city Multiple Unit (EMU) trains will also be available at domestic factories in near future, the NDRC said.

The three types of steel products are widely used in engineering projects across China.
The domestication of such products, which signals China's improvement of steel manufacturing technology, will be a considerable boost to the country's infrastructure construction and development, and also extend the steel product value chain.
