China approves feasibility study for Huaneng power plant

The Chinese government has approved the feasibility study for the Huaneng Jinling Power Plant, the first to be fuelled by natural gas from Northwest China. Construction of the plant will help reduce emission of soot and sulphur dioxide and improve the environmental quality of the city.
The plant will be constructed in Xixia District. The designed capacity is 1.2 mm kW, and the total investment is estimated to cost about 5 bn yuan ($ 604.59 mm).
