Gas pipeline from Iran to India to uplift region’s economy

Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz asserted that laying down of gas pipeline from Iran via Pakistan to India will definitely change the economic situation in the South Asian region.
"This gas pipeline will be a stamp assurance of revival of bilateral ties between the two countries," he observed this while talking to trade delegation of India currently on Pakistan’s visit.

He also stressed the need of taking more steps for a congenial atmosphere in respect of building confidence between the two neighbouring nuclear states.
"This objective could be attained by increasing bilateral trade," he added.

Later on Shaukat Aziz said that there has been an important development during National Finance Commission meeting regarding finalising the NFC Award in Islamabad.
He said on one hand government is in serious consultation with the provincial governments for a 45 % share of provinces in the divisible pool and on the other it is also encouraging the provinces to devise the formula regarding distribution of their taxes.
