The Millennium Challenge Corporation, a federal foreign aid program aimed at boosting international development, signed a $ 600 mm contract with Indonesia November 19 to reduce poverty by stimulating economic activity.
A majority of the compact will finance the Green Prosperity Project, which will develop renewable energy projects in the country and reform agriculture and forestry to reduce GHG emissions and improve resource efficiency.

Secretary of State Hillary Clinton signed the compact with the country’s ministers of finance and national development planning, US Ambassador to Indonesia Scott Marciel, and the CEO of MCC, Daniel Yohannes.
