Russia’s Gazprom signs several exploration deals with Sri Lanka

One of the biggest gas companies in the world, Russia’s Gazprom International Oil Corporation has signed several agreements with Sri Lanka.
The agreements have been signed by Minister Susil Premajayanth who is in Russia and Deputy Chairman of Gazprom Valery Guleyem. Under the agreement the company will explore for oil in Sea off Mannar.

A group of Russian technical experts will arrive in the country to hold further discussions in this regard.
Minister Premajayanth said that the Gazprom Company expressed their willingness to recruit local graduates and university community for oil exploration and industrial work related to oil based products.
