Toshiba Corp. said it has won a yen 7 bn order to supply four steam turbines and generators for Kenya's largest geothermal power plant.
A consortium of Toyota Tsusho and South Korea's Hyundai Engineering won a contract with Kenya Electricity Generating Co. to build the power generation facility, and Toshiba was selected by Hyundai to supply the turbines and generators for the project, Toshiba said.

The company will provide four 70,000-kW steam turbines at a power generation plant in the Rift Valley about 100 km northwest of Nairobi, the company said.
