Two Pakistan provinces sign MoU for cooperation in economic sectors

The Pakistan provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) and the Iranina province of Asfahan will implement a joint strategy for enhancing mutual cooperation in the sectors of economic, industrial, services and investment.
In this connection a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed in a ceremony held at the Governor House in Asfahan, Iran.

Governor General of Asfahan Dr Zakir Asfahani and Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ameer Haider Khan Hoti signed the MoU on behalf of their governments.
Members of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa delegation visiting Iran, Senior Minister Bashir Ahmad Bilour, Provincial Minister for Information Mian Iftikhar Hussain, Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Attaullah Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Tariq Jamil, Secretary Industries, Khalid Pervez, Secretary Tourism Syed Jamaluddin, Iranian Consul General at Peshawar, Hassan Darvesh Vend, and the authorities of Asfahan Government and Iran's foreign department were also present on this occasion.

According to details of MoU, both the provinces would promote bilateral cooperation for increasing relations in public and private sectors on the basis of their experiments and information in generating hydel power and establishment of thermal plants.
For training the manpower, special workshops would be arranged in the industrial sector for textile, food, wood manufactures, carpet manufacturing, fruit processing, chemical and petrochemical, steel rolling, production of the PVC/HTP pipes used for the provision of gas. It was also agreed to arrange exhibitions for trade and industry to promote economic cooperation and industrial investment.

In the mineral sector, exchange of information and know how gained through research by the training courses along with technologies, machineries and instruments will be exchanged for the research of granite, marble and other precious stones. Small faculties will be encouraged for the research and preparation of minerals in the sake of the people of both the provinces.
Besides the exhibition of stones and minerals, coordination will be ensured in the instruments, machineries and processing. Business and trade will be strengthened through extending of information and knowledge and economic opportunities will cause to act through the international exhibitions, tender and auction.

They agreed to establish a joint chamber of commerce or joint business force to enhance the traditional activities and relations under the small faculties. Exhibitions and training courses will be held under the MoU for the advancement of agriculture and livestock sectors. Exchanging of the students of agriculture universities and institutes will be encouraged.
Both the provinces will also cooperate in on form management, agriculture, engineering and protection of land.

They will also facilitate the visits of traditional delegations individually and collectively. Agriculture and livestock will be strengthened through the investment and the exchange of information and knowledge as well as in the exchange of fruit and vegetable processing technology.
Joint cultural and historical asset will be promoted through information, media, culture, art, literature, training exhibitions, and traditional festivals and the visits of cultural groups, actors and the men of letter. Coordination and cooperation will be strengthened in the faculty of media through the information, experiments, technology and the translation of modern and ancient literature of both the provinces.

The feature films regarding the life, achievements and thoughts of the luminaries would be developed. Dubbing of modern and ancient documentaries/films and joint films will be encouraged. Practical initiatives are proposed in the faculty of politics. They agreed on the exchange of delegations for the implementation of the agreement.
Both leaders shook hands and congratulated each other after singing of the MoU. They also exchanged gifts on the occasion. Later, the Governor General hosted a dinner in honour of the KP Chief Minister and his entourage.
