Iran agrees to supply 2000 MW electricity to Balochistan

Iran has agreed to supply 2000 MW electricity to Balochistan.

This was informed by Chief Minister Dr Abdul Malik while addressing a joint press conference with Governor of Iran’s Sistan-Balochestan province Aqai Ali Osat Hashmi in Quetta. Balochistan chief minister said that Iran has agreed to supply 2000 MW electricity to Balochistan. He added that 1000 MW electricity will be utilised in Gwadar project while the remaining 1000 MW will be supplied to rest of the province.

Dr Abdul informed that he has invited Iranian entrepreneurs to invest in Pakistan’s fisheries, industry, and mining sectors. He also expressed hope that the Pak-Iran gas pipeline project will be implemented soon. Speaking about the prevention of border incidents, he said border committees of the two countries will meet on January 27 and 28 to discuss measures needed to be taken to address the issue.

On the other hand, Governor Sistan-Balochestan said that some mischievous elements want to create disturbance on the border to harm Pak-Iran relations. Aqai Ali Osat Hashmi further said that Iran accords much importance to its relations with Pakistan.
