Kenyan economy grows at slowest pace since end-2009

Kenya's economy grew 3.6 % in the third quarter, the slowest pace of growth since the end of 2009, while the balance of payments swung to a 14.5 bn shilling ($ 174 mm) deficit, data showed.

On a seasonally adjusted basis, the economy grew 0.7 % in the third quarter from the previous three months, after a 0.1 % expansion in the second quarter.
The second quarter had previously been given as a 4.6 % contraction.
