The Iranian Environmental Protection Organization director said that Iran and Iraq have signed a $ 1.2 bn agreement to bring dust storms under control over the next five years.
Mohammad Javad Mohammadizadeh said according to the agreement, the two sides will first try to find a biological solution to the issue, but if the use of non-pollutant materials fails to produce satisfactory results, oil derivative mulch will be poured on deserts in Iraq to reduce dust storms.

Dust storms frequently hit countries in the region, causing environmental damage and economic problems.
