The Society seeks to promote the science of surveying at sea and related disciplines; to promote better education
and training of those engaged or intending to engage in work within these disciplines, and to accumulate, extend and
disseminate knowledge and expertise amongst the membership and amongst the public at large.

IRO represents some 300 member companies, which are Dutch suppliers in the oil and
gas industry. All activities involved in the supply industry, such as engineering, pipeline
installation, field development, maintenance and material and equipment
supply/manufacturing are consolidated within IRO. Its aim is to further the interests of the
Dutch upstream industry, onshore and offshore, in the field of politics, economics and
technical affairs on a regional, national and international level. Through IRO's network the
members can enhance their business activities.
